Ethiopians in London held a successful public meeting to commemorate the 2005 Martyrs
Posted 9th June 2008 Abbay Media Staff;

LONDON, 9th June- On Sunday, June 8, Ethiopians in London held a successful public meeting to commemorate the Victims of the 2005 post election TPLF massacres.
At the start of the event, a 1-minute silent prayer was held for the June 2005 Martyrs, who were massacred by TPLF’s Agazi army, simply for taking part in a demonstration demanding the respect of the outcome of the elections in the country.
Straight after, the two special invited guest speakers, the former senior leader of Kinijit, and Mayor-Elect of Addis Ababa Dr Berhanu Nega and the former vice chairman of Kinijit, Dr Admassu Gebeyehu proceded started giving their speeches for the full house.

Dr Berhanu’s speech in amharic entitled ‘Tamagnenetna Poletica be Ethiopia – Tamagnenet Leman? Tamagnet Lemen?’ is available here for you to read.
You can also listen to the speech
Part One and
Part two
The event was also being followed by hundreds of Ethiopians live on the Internet, through Ethiopian Current Affairs Discussion Forum.
After the speech by the guest speakers, there was a lengthy question and answers session, where members of the public inside the hall and from the ECADF gave their opinions and asked questions on the current political situation in Ethiopia.
Since it was the first time Dr Berhanu was available in London after the Kinijit crisis, members of the public took the opportunity to ask him directly on what had happened inside Kinijit and how we can learn from it to make sure that it doesn’t happen again in the future.
Dr Berhanu answered in full detail on exactly how and when the problem inside Kinijit started and described all the attempts made to rectify the issue before it became out of hand.
Most importantly, he stressed the point that for an organization struggling to bring about democracy for Ethiopia, that it is imperative for the organization to adhere to basic democratic principles within itself.
He followed on by saying understanding the fundamental principles of democracy and implementing them within the fabric of the future or present movements will protect any organization from similar crisis as seen inside Kinijit.
The event was concluded after 5 hours of interesting speeches, opinions questions and answers.
The pre-publicized demonstration outside this event had never materialized.
The event was organized by Kinijit support organization in the U.K.
A similar event was also held in Washington DC, organized by the Kinijit Support Organization in DC.

Dr. Berhanu and Ginbot 7 must work hard to gain the trust of all democracy lovers in the coming months. Remember they just came of out an organization in crisis. One of the ways to remain credible is therefore to dissociate themselves from media outlets such as ER and the Eritrean regime. Especially the Eritrean regime is at the moment preparing to exploit the anti-Meles sentiment and install another puppet regime. All insurgency groups of the Horn of Africa are now situated in Eritrea. That is the precursor to coming violence. Chaos is what we need to avoid and in the event of chaos any leadership is expected to prepare the infrastructure to lead its constituency. Organize, organize, organize. Clarify your vision for the immediate future. Keep informing the public who you are and what you intend to do and how your vision differs from party X.

Great Job,
When the old EPRPs with 40 years of zero Experience failed to organized a public meeting of 20 people, Ginbot 7 managed to start a wonderfully job.
Keep it up Guys

Shame on you all those handful minority who tried to sabotage and tried hard for the meeting to be cancelled. But Majority are always winners. I don’t understand why one or two EPRP agents tried to make chaos among Ethiopians whenever we Ethiopians tried to show unity and fight our one and only one tyranny governemnt in Ethiopia.
Ethiolion and Debteraw are direct agents of these few minorities who are helping them to promote their disintegration motives to the world. The question is how many Ethiopian are viting these websites? The answer is again ‘handful’ only those agents.
One thing these people don’t understand is they don’t even know they live in a civilised country where democracy is a right to everyone. If they think that thay can forcefully make the meeting to be cancelled, giving different excuses and convincing the Metropolitan poilce, what on earth is they are opposing Meles for not allowing freedom of movement, meetings and so on?
I have never seen such a problem from the majority supporting the genuine Kinijit (UJD). We have to give up such a foolish game. Don’t try to push others who are very strong, intelligent and knows what they are doing (the likes of Dr. Berhanu Nega). I am just puzzled what kind of stinky minds these people have and messing up the majority diaspora. Tomorrow when you get older and turn the pages of your life and look back you will be sorry for your actions and your contibutions for killing the people Ethiopia. This killing is by no means different from what Meles’ Agazi did this time 3 years ago. Wake up now and let everyone work for one goal and that is to have a democratic and United Ethiopia. Apart from that stop from trapping others who have the courage and the knowledge to work towards this goal.
EPRP = Those who shouldn’t die, died and those who should be dead, are still alive by large and creating havoc/destruction among the people of Ethiopia for the last 40 years. Get a life and do something tangible something sustantial
Long live Emama Ethiopia

Everything is trash!! no detail and nothing at all! What does success means?? Politics is hot and fashion among you guys! There is nothing else better you can bring to Ethiopia. I really have lots of serious questions to ask those who want to succeed the THRONE! But don’t know how to get the opportunity to forward it to them!! No detail about current issues, just only criticizing and demonizing woyane. I think you need to change the song a little bit. I’m not saying woyane is an angel. But you represent yourself as if you are the chosen one who cares about the poor peasants bla bla…..What happened is what happened and focusing on the future in full gear is something else. ዎይ መቃጠል!!

Good participation……..
but there is no mood AT ALL………
2 things might happen:
1) the speaker didn’t win their heart…..or
2) the participants are not willing to raise arms……
something has to be done NOW

Can any one, including the Editor of this great webiste, help?
Something is confusing. And, many people are confussed…….
The Ginbot 7 meeting was organized by the Kinijit Support Organization.
So, is Ginbot 7 a branch of KSO?
For any political support organisation to be efficient, it should have clear principles and goals……..
Who KSO belongs to?
We all know that, KSO can’t serve all politcal organisations……if so, it will be zebereqreqqqq
If KSorgnisation belongs to Judge Bertukan, why does Berhanu continue to call meetings under the banner of KSO, despite he was told to refrain from using the name Kinjit for whatso ever reason?
What is going on?
gelets-net yasefelegal……….
thank you in advance
