20 June 2008 (KNAASO) - The emergence of Andenet Party UJDP (Unity for Justice and Democracy Party) is a very important event in the Ethiopian political scene. Kinijit North America Association of Support Organizations (KNAASO) together with our sister Canada Council is honored to wish congratulations to the over 400 delegates from all corners of Ethiopia.
We salute this important event where ordinary citizens voluntarily gathered to work together to form a just and free Ethiopia. We aware that this is the first for our country in our over 3000 years of history
We in the Diaspora are heartened by the courage of the delegates from all over Ethiopia. We are in awe of the patience exhibited by the founders of Andenet in the face of the hardship they faced in the process of organizing for this important conference. We will not forget the hurt and sorrows of our fellow citizens since the 2005 elections. The official formation of Andenet is a response to the continuing repression and lack of basic rights.
This meeting that took place against all odds is a testimony that you are committed to the hard and arduous struggle ahead of us. Andenet is the result of hard work by so many who are committed to bring democracy to our country.
KNAASO with Canada Council is proud and committed to stand with you. We are also conscious that the quest for freedom is a long and protracted struggle. Events in last three years since the historical 2005 election have proven to us that the only lasting solution towards building a viable and democratic institution is to base it on a solid foundation of the rule of law and democracy. We are a very vibrant and all inclusive association of Chapters operating in all of North America including Canada due to our commitment to democracy.
We congratulate the founding members of Andenet (UJDP) and promise to double our efforts to help you reclaim our country and lead it in the right path.

I do not rejoice overe the emergence or formation of another would be loyal political party at all. The TPLF will use it as a propaganda capital to sell and legitimize its rule in Ethiopia. I do not think that Birtukan and Co. are willing and ready to wage a decisive struggle against the TPLF. The numerous flirtations of Birtkun on amny occasions disqualify her from being part of the true opposition. Folk do not be in hurry to admire one thing and then get disappointed. Just wait and see.

Those of us who have been supporting Engineer Hailu are now getting tired of waiting for him to act. From time to time he kept on repeating the same mistake by killing his own and the party’s image. Now that he is at home, we expect him to get closer to Andnet Party and work together than trying to rebuild his own party, Kinijit. All should learn how to work together with differences.

The fake UDJ was waiting for Eng.Hailu to arrivr at Addis.
They didnt obtain no bublic support even the kinijit president is abroad for longer period of time.
Eng.Hailu Shawel is full confident To run kinijit ahead to victory as long as The Ethipian people with him. I dont think even he has a problem with the formation of the new party.
May be It is good for him to have these Kinijit Faction get rid of themselves from the people party.

Dear follow ethiopian brothers and sisters, Do not be foolish and waste your money by contributing to this kinijit, we all knows what happen two years ago to all hundreds of thousands dollars we collected, now no body is taking responsibility and accountable for the lost hundred of thousands of dollars missing, some one is filling his pockets with our hard earned money and getting rich while we foolishly giving out our money.

You said, ‘Hailu Shawel has a strong support from the Ethiopian people’. Are you sure? Do you think he has ssuport by the following peoples of Ethiopia - Oromo, Gambella, Benishangul, Somali, Afar etc. Ethiopia is composed of the above and other peoples, not only one.

“Amara does not mean Ethiopia.”
Amara is just another minority tribe in ethiopia, and Kinijit represent only Ethiopias minority (Amaras). Ethiopias oromos(Majority) are not even represented in the amara dominated tribalist party (Kinijit).
