    1. Addisu Says:

Why a bomb blast every time the goverment is in a political problem? Is it a coicidence? There is no bomb blast when the government is in a relatively stable position. But now the food shortage crisis is out of control, the loyal opposition boycotted the fake election and a massive corruption scandal such as the fake gold issue and a power supply ration. BBC reported yesterday that people are even speculating after they saw a halo around the sun on monday that the last time that occured in Ethiopia, Mengistu Hailemariam fled to Zimbabwe. The last time a bomb blasted in Ethiopia was during the May election crisis.

Ethiopia: Blasts kill 2 at national gas stations

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia - Explosions at two national oil company gas stations killed two people and wounded nine in the Ethiopian capital, police said Tuesday.

The oil company’s chief executive said Monday night’s explosions were not an accident, but he did not elaborate.

The explosions occurred at one gas station in the center of Addis Ababa and one in a northern suburb, the national police spokesman said in a radio announcement.

Police did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Local resident Tadelech Alemu, who lives near the station in the city center, said the blast there shook the area, but that she did not go outside to investigate because she was afraid.

Several other residents said the blasts could be heard miles away.

Tadesse Tilahun, CEO of the National Oil Corporation, said the explosions were near waiting lines at kerosene collection points.

“It has never happened like that at our stations,” he said. “This is the first time. … It was a human act. It was not an accident on its own.”

The corporation has 12 stations in the Ethiopian capital and about 80 around the country. All were open Tuesday although employees conducted security checks on incoming cars.

Ethiopia held elections last weekend for local, regional and some federal positions. The international rights group Human Rights Watch said the ballot was marred by intimidation of opposition candidates. The country is also embroiled in a border dispute with Eritrea, and is battling rebels in its ethnically Somali Ogaden region.

It is sad that innocent people dies, but if the stolen votes of 2005 by weyanes are not returned and as long as TPLF is pushing its hard line oppression politics, it is no wonder that any human being resort to use force and disobedience to bring change in the country. TPLF made Ethiopia deliberetaly a land locked nation with worst human rights records and no Press freedom.

      Ethiopia blast toll climbs

ADDIS ABABA - The death toll from blasts that rocked the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa has climbed to three after another person succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The blasts occurred late Monday in two petrol pumps in the city’s south, wounding 18 people.

“Two people were killed immediately from the two bomb explosions, another one died when he went to hospital,” police spokesman Demsash Hailu told AFP over telephone.

Authorities blamed the separatist Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), which alongside the Ogaden National Liberation Front and Ethiopia’s arch-foe Eritrea, are routinely blamed for such attacks.

“The investigation is going on. (But) the OLF is the main suspect, (these are) exactly the type of attacks it has led in the past against the Ethiopian government,” said government spokesman Berekat Simon.

    10. mamo Says:

What a curse? The people of Ethiopia have suffered for the last thirty four years. The people are crying loudly and the recepie for disintegration is systematically designed. They have traded the land and its natural resources. Recently a good portion of its land was donated to Sudan. They are really shmeless enemies and still telling us that they are sons and daughters of the land, what curse? What they are practicing now is not new, it is rather an old wine in a new bottle. The only solution to our current problem is stand in unison.

    19. Dejene Says:

      Mr.Medaksa

Let me ask you, why the english language is an international language of this world? Because the British people are majority? No, english is first internationaly introduced language. That is why we learn to speak and to write. It is nothing to do with cultural domination and cultural suppression. Likeweise the use of amharic language is the same. Our problem is not language. Our problem ist ethnocentric TPLF regime with his divisive policy.
