EMF - Isaias Afeworki’s regime refused a request from Mr. Dawud Ibsaa to arrest Brig. General Kemal Gelchi, reliable sources told EMF. According to the source, Obbo Dawud Ibsaa has demanded all OLF reformists to be under house arrest and/or detention in Asmara, including Brig. General Kemal Gelchi, the Ethiopian general who defected in 2006 along with hundreds of Ethiopian soldiers, opposing the Zenawi regime.
Dawud Ibsaa got no cooperation from Asmara. “It was a major setback.” The source said, “The Asmara authorities were rather annoyed by Dawud Ibsaa imprudent move.” It added.
Earlier, it has been reported that Hassen Hussien’s reformist group, including former army general Kemal Gelchi, has made a radical change with in the OLF, and decided to work with all Ethiopian democratic forces.
Despite vote-of-no-confidence on him, and despite the formation of provisional executive committee by the OLF council last week, Mr Dawud Ibsa claims he is still the Chairman of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF).
The change with in OLF is a great opportunity to the newly formed OLF leadership to score diplomatic and political victory.

Although the general and his other colleague’s move are right and timely, I have the greatest doubt over the regime in Eritrea to imagine that they think good for Ethiopia. This is because Mr Isaiyas unbelievably hates Ethiopia and a particular ethnic group in Ethiopia. I therefore advice the reformists to have a calculated move as long as their intention is to do good for our common home and its people. My advice to Mr Isaiyas is also to genuinely help these reformists for the good of these two brotherly and sisterly countries people. If you do that both of us benefits the fruits of this reform and can live peacefully and amicably.

If the EX-Brig. General Kemal Gelchi genuinely continues to follow the reformist way he is in eternal danger as long as he stays in Eritrea. For him and for other prominent figures, it is imperative to act either in freed areas or elsewhere. It is naive to think that an Ethiopian opposition political and armed group totally dependent on Eritrea will be free from Eritrean domination.

If the news is true I applaude the Eritrean government. Anybody who thinks we don’t need Eritrean support to get rid off the weyane cancers is either a weyane agent or delusional day dreamer. If indeed OLF reformist succeed and form an alliance with other democratic forces under the Ethiopian framework, it will be the end of the mercenary Tplf regime. You can’t have both ways. Either you have to love him as are true Ethiopian or hate him as true TPLF. Shaebia truely cares about Ethiopia’s stability; mostly for their own people’s sake. PIA knows the danger we are in than We Ethiopians do.
If it weren’t for PIA, who grabed TPLF and US by their balls, we will be singing Tigray National Anthem in Meskel Square. We Ethiopians are ungratefull to say the least. Eritrea has great leaders and informed people and they have proved to us and to the world they want peace.
They have the truth and they will win in every aspect of their challenge. It will be wise for us, Ethiopians, to learn what we have lost: pride, unity and hard work. First thing is first, Facts. East is Harar balle Arssi and eastern part of shoa and easter jimma and west should be wellaga, illubabor, wollo and west shoa west jimma . Muslim east is victiom of west orthodox oromo power struggle with amara cousins. historical and cultural ties stronger between western oromo and amara than east oromos and west oromos. Remember this always: Think of the long standing of the relationship between the TPLF and EPLF. They could trade in by establishing opposition groups against each other. But the bottom line is they are still Birds of the same feather.
For the last 30 years history tells us that, from the outset, it is the TPLF who fought for the Independence of Eritrea and expedite their referendum by recognizing their independence at the UN level. And, in turn, it it’s the EPLF who invaded Addis and controlled the Menelik Palace and set in the throne for Meles-a pro Eritrean mercenary clique and relative of Isayaas.
And, Meles fought Siye et al. not to proceed invading Eritrea [in the Badme-Tsorna war] and further quashed the boundary documentation in the Allegers’’ Agreement by giving more concessions to Eritrea. Even to day, the TPLF are the ones who still fight dissidents like the Afars not to question the illegal annexation of Assab with Eritrea. Is it not the Eritrean Clique who still controls the TPLF. [Sebehat et al. kicked out the TPLF-Tigrean sector and dominates the party].
Is it not the TPLF who still weakens the Unity of Ethiopia and propagate divisiveness along ethnic lines and administer the Country along the organizational chart leveled by Musssoloni. [Mussoloni divided Ethiopia along ethnic lines as Governo Amhara centered in Gondar and Governo Oromo centered in Jimma etc and divided the country under a divide and rule policy].It is not Isayaas who said they do not fear the unity of the country because he said” We gave them a hundred years of Home Work”. A home work of divisiveness thus implemented by the TPLF under the supervision of the EPLF.
Remember always this. They may regroup and stir up opposition against each other [Shabia works with OLF and PPLF etc and the TPLF also regroups Eritrea opposition in Mekele etc] but this is a face saving strategy between the two sinister fronts.
The secrets of the opposition and their military strategy is far communicated in between among their bosses before its actual implementation. The strategies of the OLF is well known to the TPLF before OLF ventures to implements it.
In effect OLF of Asmara, EPPF and the opposition formed in Mekele are toys put on stage to disseminate their frustration and far manipulated by a remote control by their bosses.
We are in a century where opposition groups are created, regrouped in order to satisfy the end goals of their bosses and fool their subjects.
In a nut shell, I am in the opinion that it is arguable to give support to any opposition that comes through Eritrea. We should cautious of its frame up and strategy.

The reformists are on the right direction or track. Mr Isayas afework has learned from his pervious mistakes and now he is trying to do his best to re-unite all ethiopians together ,fight their common enemy together and become free from dictators together.We,ethiopians and eritreans have almost all [99.9%] things in common. Ethiopians do not have more close friends or neighbours than eritreans, and the same thing for eritreans. ethiopia is their second country and ethiopians are their close brothers and sisters. nothing more or less. So our differences[ problems] can be solved around the table as soon as we ,ethiopians will get our country at our hand from TPLF.IT is mr Isayas at most interst to re-unite ethiopians under ethiopia’s nationalism and show all sorts of help for the democratic forces.Mr isyas has somany opportunities to topple TPLF from minilik’s palace by coordinating all ethiopian’s democractic forces, but in one or another cases he does not use those possibilies, but late is better than never. Still enough time to kick out TPLF which doesn’t have publice support.

Where is the wisdom in that? What kind of thinking is it that motivates you to incarcerate, to inflict the pain of detention and impose the ignominy of confinement on your own comrades who have suffered and shared so much with you? Wouldn’t it be harrowingly enough to be harassed, tortured and put to jail by TPLF oppressors and why do you need now to add more to that pain? Is that the only way that you know you can resolve your differences with your brothers? Why couldn’t you hold a peaceful and amicable discussion rather than engage in denunciation and demonization? Why did you have to ignore your venerable tradition of finding mediation and reconciliation through your own elders? Is it fair and does it demonstrate any self-respect on your part when you ‘appeal’ to the tyrant Isayas,instead of your own wise GOMTU,to deal with your folk critics by consigning them to the Eritrean dungeons?
Can you show me where the dignity and the ‘astute leadership’ are in that subservient appeal of yours that was spurned by the Eritrean master? Were you not embarrassed and shamed when your ‘imprudent’ request was contemptuously dismissed? Were we not embarrassed and shamed for you? Did you not embarrass and shame us all?
In a nut shell, this painfully instructs us that the old ways need to change. There aught to be a radical shift in the way our differences and conflicts are being dealt with. Whether these differences are within the confines of one organization or among the various political groups in the country, they aught to be amenable to peaceful democratic dialogue. More significantly,as our leaders are seen to be extremely prone to the authoritarian mind-set, this requires a good deal of an over-haul culminating in democratic leadership.
And it is in that sense that I support the reformers cause for OLF to change. It is no good pretending OLF doesn’t need any change like the other political organizations do. It does.The wind of change is veritably blowing across the land.
In order to steer in the right direction the legitimate drive of the Oromo for an ‘ equity within the Ethiopian polity’ OLF merits a renaissance!

Dear Mr. Dawud Ibsaa, i understand the frustration when the direction of your 40 years of struggle take a left turn. For Ethiopia, the change is long awaited reunion. .These change gave direction and determination to Fight TPLF as one. Oromo is the majority of Ethiopia and in democratic Ethiopia the Oromo people have the chance to manage their own people and natural resources as they wish. TPLF is works day and night to divide and weaken Ethiopia, in your case Muslim and Christian Oromo. You cant have your Oromoia when you are divided. Time is running out for our people. Oromia or Ethiopia need immediate change but not when TPLF is still around. If you care about your people This is mile stone in our history. In order to gratify your EPLF grudge against your TPLF enemy,you are in need of a stick! You want the rest of us to be a stick in your hands with which you hope to vindictively beat your cousins in Makale.Why should the rest of us be involved in this?
Despite those good old days of comradeship against the Dergue,these are incredible times when we witness the extreme and vengeful animosity between the two dictatorships in Addis and Asmara that are hell bent to destroy each other.The solidarity of recent years and indeed the memory of indelible kinship have left nothing in their trails by way of self-restraint and the desire for reconciliation. In fact, it is an all out covert and overt war between the two tyrannies.
In order to realize this,Esayas,the former doyen of secessionists,is now a born again defender of Ethiopian unity while still serving as the mainstay (both military and propaganda) of some opposition including a few separatist groups in Ethiopia.
In similar fashion,Meles,on his part, organizes some Eritrean dissidents as a political and military force opposed to Isayas.At the same time.he facilitates the outward exile of many Eritrean refugees by way of highlighting their unbearable existence in the diplomatically pariah state of Eritrea under Esayas.
What is more, both dictatorships saber rattle from time to time.
Interestingly,both tyrannies proclaim they do these for the benefit of their respective people and in the name of the people.But,nothing is further from the truth. Both the Eritrean and Ethiopian people have no stake in this. Their fate is not tied up with the fate of the tyrants they unjustly rule them. An independent pro-democracy movement in Ethiopia must overcome the TPLF in Addis. A similar pro-democracy movement must aim at a ‘regime change’ in Eritrea. That is the true hope and destiny of our people in both lands. And that is light years away from trying to prop up one dictatorship at the expense of the other, as our dear Tesf is hoping to.
Dear friend,they say,charity begins at home.It is true it does.You therefore need to help your own Eritrean compatriots by joining their struggle against Isaya’s regime.It is only that way that you can help us best in Ethiopia in our quest for democracy.
