20 August 2008– GINBOT 7: Movement for Justice, Freedom and Democracy is about to launch a big fundraising campaign, the public relation told EMF. According to the public relation, the fund is required to carryout a major operation in Ethiopia, as part of the activities of the movement. In addition to its online fund-raiser using PayPal, an online payments service, funds are being raised through several activities including paltalk groups. G7 has just launched a PayPal payment method. People can contribute money for the movement by going to www.Ginbot7.org. In related news, Dr. Berhanu Nega’s interview with EMF is re-published in Ethiopia by a monthly Awramba Times Magazine [picture]. Sources said, over 10,000 copy of the magazine is sold-out with in an hour on Friday morning. According to our sources, the movement is very popular inside the country but people expect more actions than words. This is a challenge the G7 leaders would face.

Yes! First of all I would like to say thank you for the editors of Auramba in addis for posting the news about Ginbot 7. In addition to that look guys how much eager are the people of Ethiopia for a movment against weyane especially a struggle that is acquired by the people and leader he knows and trusts like Dr. Birhanu, Ato Muluneh, Ato Adragachew, Ato Chekole, Ato Epherem and Dr. Giday. The Ethiopian people can’t wait to be a part of the struggle along with the ultimate weyane fighters of Ginbot 7 movement. No matter how much criticism comes from the weyane mouth piece cadres or from the rotten egg EPRP members and supporters, Ginbot 7 will proceed its movement and will definitely be supportered by millions of Ethiopians in Ethiopia. Yes! Again we don’t care the eyasu EPRP hyena groups insult leaders of Ginbot 7, of course we don’t care the weyane idiot and HODAM members and supports talk every day, as long as Ginbot 7 has reached the Ethiopian people the struggle will be very successful in a short period of time.
Now I want to urge Ethiopians in Diaspora who have best dream about our country, let’s not wait another time there is not going to be a better time to engage ourselves with Ginbot 7 and support the party by any means including financially for their fund raising. Those of us who say that woooo we have contributed so much money for the former kinijit and other parties but didn’t see the outcome, I feel your pain since I am one of those people who have been contributed a lot, but that was history and my dream hasn’t came true to get rid of weyane, therefore until weyane criminal group removed from Ethiopia I will continue to contribute my part for the best party that I belive and such a party is here now….it is Ginbot 7…….
Bravo Ginobt 7 leaders and members we all are with you along with millions of Ethiopians in Ethiopia …..Go G7 Go…..
Shame on eyasu EPRP and Hailu shawel fudo ruminants that are still talk against Ginbot 7 rather than targeting weyane…….
Death to weyane members and supporters!!!!!
August 20th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Wrong! It should be a challenge every Ethiopian should face. No one
should sit around with folded arms and expect others to bring miracles.
Kinijit succeeded because Ethiopians embraced the movement. The same
energy, can do attitude should prevail right now. Everything in Ethiopia is wrong, wrong! No one is talking about woyanes and the few frifari lekames.
Even Osama’s brothers, the Bin Laden’s are getting in the scramble for Ethiopia.

I am in support of Fundraising compaign but my question if to this day GINBOT 7 members dont even have a clue how the struggle is going to be conducted at home except a bunch of talk on web sites and small gathering ere and there.
Last year i was supporter of Dr Berhanu assuming he is honest but with times i have changed my views about this man. I can trust Andargachew more than anyone in Ginbot 7 crew.
We need Nationalist leaders that the same old carrier poleticians who are always shaking their tail on poletical stage
August 20th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Now you are kidding. You want the diaspora to finance war intended to disrupt cultural and social activities, destroy dams and bridges, close schools and clinics, keep people from work, etc. etc.? It won’t do it.
First, you are dealing with the poorest people of the planet. G7 has no political, legal or moral right to wage war in the midst of hungry and sick people even if to liberate them. War will surely aggravate the bad situation to worse. Aggravation can result in widespread deaths of people caught in war between the government and G7. Both are power hungry beasts that will not cave in. Once they start and propagate the war, they will commit war crimes and crimes against humanity. If the diaspora gives money, it will be implicated in these crimes.
Second, there is no guarantee that war will bring a better life to the people. In war situation, armed groups always take advantage to get acess to power. Once in power, their preoccupation is how to keep it. By their nature, armed groups are undemocratic, violent and oppressive. It is a naivty to expect different from G7 once it wins the war.
Third, the G7 has no army of its own. The idea of war came to them when EPPF, a financially and materially destitute organization that claims to have severed its link to Eritrea, was looking for support from diaspora. Then it crated a rapprochement with some disgruntled individuals from the former CUD to back it financially from diaspora in exchange to integrating these individuals to its leadership circle. Then G7 was hastely created with war as one of its objectives. Initially, G7 thought it thought it will take the leadership of EPPF and democratise it, but they have not made a break - through in that issue. There is no time to lose. Now it has to meet its side of the bargain. Bring the money.
Fourt, even today, let alone after the war is intensified and territiries liberated, G7 has no control over the beast that it has relased. That is the problem of all armed groups in the country. The so called leaders residing in Europe and N. America have no leadership on the armed groups. They don’t have leadership now and they will not have any in the future. If you think, G7 leads an army in the country, you are wrong. Maybe different if they get the courage to try “bereha” which they will not.
Five, raising fund for groups that fight governments constitutes a crime punishable by law. This is particularly so to most of you who have taken foreign citizenship or permanent residence. Taking care is important.
Six, for the absolute majority of the people in the country, peaceful struggle is still possible. G7 is full of rabble rousers that can only see the dark. It does not mean that there are no their likes; there are some. But, the absolute majority do not support war. So why impose it on people that want to vote out TPLF/EPRDF from office? Before, the division was political, i.e. war or peace. Now the division included financing. Financing war or peaceful struggle. The choice is given to the diaspora which, we believe, will opt to finance peaceful struggle rather than war.
Seven, the diaspora has bad experience the fund it raises. From Eders to Ekubs in diaspora were prey of money sharks. Money raised to help the CUD was not properly accounted for. Even the recent a million and something dollar raised during the visit of the CUD leaders has evaporated. Who took it? Andenet or G7? If you can’t stop the compulsion to contribute, at least make sure the money goes to the right place. Otherwise, use it for something useful.
Eight, oppressed peoples have always been encumbered by traitors. We Ethiopians are more encumbered in this way than any other people in the world. While the trairors in other countries are generally confined to the mediocre or the irresponsible, the traitors in ours are generally to be found among the men highest placed in education and society, the fellws who call themselves leaders. G7 is one such an example.
They are asking you for money to advance war. Don’t give them.

Dear Senedu,
Do u remember how many people woyane killed in what u call “the not even tried peaceful struggle”. I leave it for u to imagine how many they would kill in “the official peaceful struggle”. Now woyanes motto is “yebesebese zinab ayferam”, they have already lost the good name they have managed to fake Westerners into. For me and I believe for many others it would not come as a surprise if they do. Plus, how are u going to carry out peaceful struggle in a country where even a demonstration is not allowed.
i dont understand how u said “they see the dark side” as even the magazine title is “tesfegna negn”.
Thanks for ur information but i have already donated $200 and i will keep on donating.
Cheers

Moresh, Tenesea and anonymous,
It’s upto you to give or not to give money. I don’t think G7 will bring any change in the country using war. In fact, war will give legitimacy to armed separatist organizations which had been condemned for conducting war and effectively made to question its usefulness. Until G7 emerged with a declaration of war, some of these organizations had abandoned war. Now they are cleaning their old weapons. G7 is a bad political influence both in and out of the country.
G7 will be a tool of destroying the country. Its leaders are suggesting that they will fight the government side by side with separatist organizations. G7’s hope is the organizations will be convinced on the unity of Ethiopia. For that, listen to the VOA interview with the OLF leaders. They can’t even call the name Ethiopia. It’s worse with the ONLF. If G7 thinks democracy will solve separatist agenda, it is dead wrong. The issue is about having a separate homeland - nothing less. So, do you justify the war of these organizations and further fight by their side to help them achieve separation? Or, do you encourage them to enter into peaceful struggle without disrupting daily life? I think the choice for G7 is to distance itself from these organizations.
The advantage of peaceful struggle is that you know who is who. You know the program, strategy and ask questions. You can elect leaders and remove them or throw them out from the organization. This is not possible with secret organizations particularly with armed organizations. The latter will not have the time and interest to exercise democracy until freedom. Once freedom is achieved, then people will have to deal with the unknown organization leaders and members who never exercised democracy. It is this unplesant situation that we are trying to avoid.
Peaceful struggle in the country is still possible. It is possible to create opposition organizations, opposition leaders can meet and discuss issues, papers report what they say. This is not possible with secret and armed groups. News of their shooting here and there might be reported, but it is always tained with lies. Mostly it generates fear among ordinary people who are not ready to sacrifice for something they don’t know or are not sure about. It opens door to massive government actions that will force people to stay away from active politics. Generally, ordinary people cannot be moved to support opposition except when their basic daily interest is affected. G7 cannot move people with war.
G7 leaders are divisive. The opposition in the country is baracing itself to organizae and reorganize to peacefully remove the ruling party. Peaceful struggle will enable orderly transfer of power from know to the known. Winning office through the ballot box is a clear legitmacy to govern as opposed to war to replace the incubent. It makes transition period under armed groups unnecessary. G7 is divisive because it works to undermine peaceful struggle, election and orderly transfer of power. What G7 didn’t know is people will go out to cast ballot no matter what type of government is in power. It has done it in the past and it will do it in the future. G7 might call for a boycott, but it will get no listeners. So, isn’t it reasonable to restrain itself from such a call? In fact, it should encourage people to cast vote for the opposition. Given its track record, we doubt if it would do just that.
In fact, G7 is jaelous of the peaceful struggle at home. We say this because it has opened two fronts for itself. One against the government and another with the opposition. What it does is divide the opposition camp by telling its supporters that the government will not go away if we don’t shoot at it. To a certain extent, it makes sense and it has a considerable audience in the country. The opposition is trying hard to convince that there is more danger in war than in peaceful struggle. From enabling separatist organizations to the end of the cpuntry to allowing unknown armed groups establishing dictatorship. For sure, the people will one day wake up to this reality and reject the war camp. Till then, G7 will have ears to its rhetoric.
For G7 the war issue is personal. As said above, its leaders are not only jaelous, they are angry too. Some of them are personally criticised by prominent leaders of the opposition for their stand. They have imposed exile on themselves and lost respect they once used to enjoy back home. Now they are ordinary people detached from the new politcal reality of the country. The only way they can pop up here and there in diaspora and locally is if they talk war. And that is what they are doing. In concrete terms, they have brought nothing useful to the political discourse. They have more danger in store for the people and the country.
Please don’t support war. Let’s allow poor people win their daily lives, send their children to schools, get medical attention and survive.
God bless the country and its people.

To Senedu ( a new weyane mouth piece cadre),
You should be a simple weyane cadre that pretends as if you support peaceful struggle or you should be DENGAY RAS that have no clue about anything in this world, but the whole point of your endless sentence is to provoke other means of struggle as weyane did and to keep pushing all oppositions to go through weyane’s so called peaceful struggle method that prolongs the life span of weyane while it kills the energy and time of the weyane opponents.
As the leaders and principle of Ginbot 7 we all are tired of going by the weyane peaceful struggle method that is restricted on to involve in election but would not allow oppositions to take power…..shame on you ….they say fool me once you are stupid but fool me twice I am stupid …
Therefore, the so called the weyane criminal group has fool the Ethiopians many times, but we all say that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH…from now on we can’t be easily fooled by weyane little minded cadres or by weyane poor psychology anymore.
Actually, if you consider yourself as any concerned Ethiopian who is angry about the gross human rights disrespect of weyane on Ethiopia and who really wants to contribute your own part for the struggle to carry a change though a peaceful struggle method, you would not say Ginbot 7 leaders are jealous about the peaceful struggle. However, since you are a DEDEB Weyane cadre that tries to pretend as if you are opposition and want to use this opportunity to attack Ginbot 7.
Regardless of the poor endless propaganda of Weyane and EPRP members on Ginbot 7, the struggle of Ginbot 7 will continue with the help of millions of Ethiopians across the world until the end of the weyane criminal mafia era in Ethiopia.
Anyway, Sendu don’t write to preach your poor weyane propaganda using many paragraph, just write a few words so that you would save our time, save our place in the comments area and simply get paid by weyane without going further on your poor agenda….
Sendu….shame on you and Death to weyane members and supporters. !!!!!

good bye bro and keep it up.
August 21st, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Dear Senedu,
Let me go through the things u have said point by point eventhought they seem to very related and part of one idea as Hagos Araya said.
Abt separatist organizations, I think u dont hava a clear idea abt G7s collaboration with them. G7 works with them under the condition that they strive to bring democracy to Ethiopia.and the other thing is that they should believe in the unity of ethiopia. and if there are disagreements on other things, they should leave the decision to the people in a democratic manner. This are the fundamental requirements G7 has put abt collaborating with other organizations. U can read this from the recent interview of Dr. Birhanu with EMF. By the way G7 has not so far made any official announcements abt working with this or that organizations, so please dont write just what u feel. Write based on evidence and we can discuss things in a civilized manner.
I agree in some parts with what u mentioned in the 3rd paragraph. Eventhough it would be difficult to exercise the things u have said directly i think it is possible to express our disagreements and complaints. As for me G7 leaders are the most conscious and i will trust them with the decisions they made to bring democracy to ethiopia.
I feel shame for u abt ur 4th paragraph as u tried to ellaborate how peaceful struggle is still possible. By the way, G7 still didnt rule out peaceful struggle. We support “holistic struggle” to bring down woyane. coming back to ur shameful point, do u think forming opposition parties and giving interviews is a big part of peaceful struggle. If u believe that is so, then it has already been tried by Dr. Merara and Beyene Petros.
Can u spare sometime and explain how is it possible to do demonstarations, civil disobedience etc.
ur next paragraph is also out of context, what u said there is clearly what G7 is trying to accomplish/establish.Now there is not even a glimpse of hope of gaining office through ballot box.
Ur other points seem to be not worthy of a reply and for now i am done. As Hagos said please dont write lengthy replies (u made me write a lengthy one too). U can reinforce them and publish them as an article.
cheers

THIS ANSWERS FOR THOSE WHO DOUBT ERITREA’S GENIUN INTEREST TO HELP.
Self- Confidence: Key for Peace and Development
By Staff
Aug 20, 2008, 13:03
The EPLF which had led the Eritrean people’s struggle for independence to a victorious culmination understood from the beginning that peace and stability as well as economic and cultural development cannot be bound to the borders of one country and has since been making whatever contribution it can to regional peace and stability. As it is a determinant precondition for speedy and sustainable development as well as for regional developmental cooperation, the EPLF had always believed in the importance of regional peace and stability.
The Front had long been aware that the misguided imperialist and expansionist ambition of successive Ethiopian leaders was the major threat and impediment to the region’s peace and stability. To correct and alter such a mentality, the EPLF established relations of cooperation with the various Ethiopian organizations struggling against the dictatorial and imperialist regimes and had made significant contributions towards promoting a participatory political system in Ethiopia. Moreover, the EPLF had exerted efforts to establish diplomatic grounds for developing cooperative relationships with different political forces in the region.
Pursuing a policy of peace and neutralism based on own national interests and sovereignty, the Government of Eritrea after independence not only strived to strengthen the relations fostered during the years of the independence struggle but also worked hard to create grounds for cooperative development endeavors and made significant contribution in resolving conflicts that threaten regional development. The Eritrean government has played and is still playing constructive role in the process of finding a comprehensive peaceful solution to the problems in Southern, Eastern and Western Sudan. It provided assistance in resolving Djibouti’s long standing internal conflict. When civil war broke out in Yemen, the Eritrean government stood by Yemeni unity and extended the necessary assistance. Moreover, having always made continuous contribution towards bringing about peace and reconciliation in Somalia, in the past two years the Eritrean government demonstrated moral and political support to the Somali people’s own initiative to achieve reconstitution and reconciliation. Furthermore, the Government of Eritrea condemned the external interference that is complicating the Somali problem and has continuously been calling on the international community to give the Somali people the chance to resolve their problems on their own.
Believing that regional organizations can play crucial role in securing harmony and developmental cooperation, the Eritrean government had been pushing for smaller and more effective organizations as an alternative to big international organizations. Based on this outlook, Eritrea under the leadership of President Isaias Afwerki has been striving for the reorganization and restructuring of IGAD, which had been limited to only addressing drought problems in the Horn region, with a much broader political and economic scope.
The Eritrean people and government’s earnest efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and foster regional harmony and cooperation can be attested to by all peace-loving quarters. Unfortunately due to the continuous plots to reduce regional and international organizations to mere tools at the hands of super powers and the deep-rooted slave mentality and worship of foreign powers among many Africans, the afore-mentioned objectives have made no progress. The regional organization of IGAD had for instance abandoned its founding objectives and finally became a tool at the disposal of foreign powers. The fact that the organization gave its blessing to the illegal invasion of one of its member states, namely the sovereign nation of Somalia is one of the most shameful chapters of the history of IGAD.
However, regardless of the reality on the ground, the Eritrean people and government’s commitment to securing regional peace, harmony and cooperation will remain. Hence, if IGAD is to effectively realize its founding objectives as per the wishes and desires of the people and Government of Eritrea and that of the people of the Horn region as a whole, it will have to reorganize and restructure its programs and priorities according to the present needs of the region. And developing a sense of self-worth and discarding the existing slave mentality and worship of external powers are the first steps to this end; for self-confidence is the sole key to achieving peace and development.
