I am dubious about his mental status. He is a political looser. We know everything but he wants to tell us a different story. I believe in difference in political view. Lidetu is completely different person from the one I knew before election 2005. He doesn’t have any principle.Just a silly opportunist. I am wondering how he would be end up after the comming 2002 election. Nobody will turn out to elect him and his bloody cohorts. Then after one day Woyane will put hi in jail as he is no more important to legitimize the regime. He will be history shortly. A pitty politician. God forgive us.

Let it be known that it is said that Lidetu has 9 hearts. He is synical and hides all and utters with one. In Amharic ” Lidetu of Lalibela has a heart of Nine, he hides all and tells out his secrets only from the one heart”.
Lidetu only speaks 1/10 of his heart or what he believes.

Lidetu might have been the biggest political villain at one point.In light of what happened to Kinijit in the aftermath of its leaders release from prison, it is time to forget losers like Lidetu and move on. Writing about Lidetu and/or requesting interviews with Lidetu is tantamount to saying he still matters and people care about what he thinks which is not true, nobody gives a damn about Lidetu.

It is a waste of time to interview idiot Ledetu. We will not learn any thing from him but we are treating him as an important figure by giving a chance to hear his dirty mouth. This stupid Ledetu, he does not even have a courtesy to let him finish his questions and left the interviewee alone. What a shame. Please do not give him a chance any more to get interview from you.

He actually gave good responses to the questions he was asked. It is unfortunate that people keep asking him stupid questions like that and play into his manipulative skills. The guy was not asked a single question that would expose who he really is. How he did what he did - the nitty gritty stuff by itself - does not matter. It is his character/approach to politics that is dangerous to the pro-democracy movement and the future of our country. So the nitty gritty stuff must be viewed from that angle - to reveal a pattern.

Lidetu is by far the smartest career politician Ethiopia has ever had in recent times. He has all the necessary ingredient s to succeed: he is shrewd, calculative, he possesses an acute sense of realism and the necessary dose of cynicism. Also he has shown time and again he could be extremely populist. You can’t you compare him to the likes of Hailu Shawul or Berhanu who play politics in their spare time and who are very amateurish. His only shortcoming lays buried in his highland/amhara culture of “Kim” or inexorable resentment which create a complulsive urge of revenge. That’s what pushed him to be an EPDRF accomplice in the sinking of Kinijit after Birhanu/Kestedemena wrecked the party (UEDP-Medhin) he paid so many sacrifices to build.
However whether one like him or not (I for one don’t like him), I really think he is the real deal and will soon be born from his ashes.
