The report also confirmed that prison guards banned visitors to see the famous Ethiopian singer on Sunday. Hundreds of visitors, including w/t Birtukan Midekssa, flocked today to kality prison to comfort Teddy Afro. None of the visitors were allowed to see him, source said. Ethiopians are organizing a protest rally in Washington DC, on Monday April 28, 2008. The demonstrators are calling upon the Ethiopian Authorities to respect rule of law and human rights.

Those who wish to politicise, or even commercialize, the imprisonment of Tewodros Kasahun, aka Tedi Afro, on criminal charges are not by any means helping the boy. If the suspect is innocent he will be free in due process of law. This will be good news for law abiding Ethiopians. In the contrary, If the courts deliver a guilty-verdict, it would equally be good news for the family of the victim. In the case of latter scenario, the next move for the would-be convict must be approaching the family of the victim and pay a reasonable sum as “guma”. Once the victim’s family are accommodated, the would-be convict must then appeal to President Girma for parole and pardon. This is the only way-out that can help the accused and not stupid demonstrations in the streets of America. My best wishes to Tedi.

Whatever is the case, this thing makes one thing very clear, and that is we, the majority of Ethiopians, do not have trust on the government (better to call it a gang). And this implies that we should not be ruled by someone who does not have our trust…and we know that this gang doesn’t stop trying to rule on its own, so we should stop it from causing all kinds of misery to our beloved country….
My sense tells me to trust the young, wonderful, legendary Ethiopian hero than the untrustworthy woyane machineries, whatever evidences they can produce.

Why Teddy Afro in Prison?? Facts and truth.
Body: Teddy Afro as you all know is going to be spending this holiday in prison,he should been out this past week, but thanks to the Ethiopian prosecutors who had two years to build a case against him on that hit and run incident, two years and they haven’t build any thing, so they asked for more time, a week to be exact and why is that?? so Teddy can spent the holiday away from his family and friends, which a total BS. I’ll tell you the reason why he’s in prison? is not that hit a run or anything like that, last year during the Ethiopian Millennium Teddy had the biggest concert in the history of Ethiopian music, a huge event, it was the first time he performed in two years in his home land. The ambiance was great, his fans were all over the place. Before the event the promoters made it clear to Teddy Afro not sing his hit song “Yastasryal” which happened to be the name of his album, too. He signed a contract stating that he wasn’t going to sing it, however like the true artist he is, he sang it and pleased his fans. After that, I knew they were going to punish him but the question when and how?I didn’t know, so I guess the worst thing you could do to a person is to put him in the slammer away from his family and friends during this great Easter Holiday. He will be out and his tours schedule will continue as planned, no sweat here. His Easter gift to his fans is the Fassika song which u could download from my page for free. Teddy Afro is charged for according to Article 543 sub art (3).
Below is what Article 543 (3) says:
The punishment [of Homicide by Negligence] shall be rigorous imprisonment from five year to fifteen years and fine from ten thousand to fifteen thousand
Birr where the criminal has negligently caused the death of two
or more persons or where he has deliberately infringed express
rules and regulations disregarding that such consequences may
follow or
even where he has put himself in a state of irresponsibility by
taking drugs or alcohol.
Wait a minute, I thought only 1 person by the name Degu Yibelte was allegedly killed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Article 543 (2) was more appropriate but not good enough to deny Teddy his right for bail.
Art 543 (2) says:
Where the negligent homicide is committed by a person, such as
a doctor or driver, who has a professional or other duty to
protect the life, health or safety of another, the punishment shall
be simple imprisonment from one year to five years and fine
from three thousand to six thousand Birr.
As you can see this article was more appropriate to apply on Teddy since he allegedly caused the death of only 1 person. Since the maximum sentence this crime carries is only 5 years, he would have a right to bail.
- Does Teddy’s lawyer know how to read?
- Do the remote-controlled judges know how to read?

I always believed in what we call “a due presses”.
It’s possible that Mr Kassahun Teddy Afro is the prime suspect since
his car was found at near by location.
But it could also be that he was framed by a government that has been
